Belbeaker-Kalash connection?

Post by Kraftr »

De kalash, devotional pot, maybe related to the bel beaker and Freya culture?

Some quotes;
‘Devotees believe the water in the kalash is akin to the primordial waters(...)life force(...)motherswomb
The kalash is a symbol of abundance(...)homemaking(...)all gods in one(...)the five elements(...)chakra’s(...)’
Most well know use; weddings, and the festival of light, Dewali.

And it also looks like the Zoroastrian firepot, with the fire where it is supposed to be, at the neck. And considering the meaning, and its symbolism at funerals, can this even be connected to the famously mysterious “handbags’ on ancient sculptures?
And of course there is the blond, blue eyed ‘nonbelievers’ people with the same name, mentioned in my other post.

The link you provided refers at to the Samudra Manthan tale of Kalash and that story is linked by academics directly to Norse sagas. So the connection to Germanic peoples exists, if not necessarily to Frisia directly.

Edit: the Ægir mentioned in linked Wikipedia article above is a Finnish ruler, Väinämöinen by Finnish name, in Frá Fornjóti/Fundinn Noregr sagas (see here and here) that closely parallel the OL narrative on Scandinavia. Though the usage case is obviously here allegorical or fantastical and not a gritty realistic war tale as seen in Frá Fornjóti/Fundinn Noregr and OL.

apparantly, the firepot was also known by Phoenicians, who had a mixed ethnos and religion as I understand.
