The incorporation of jewelry is a welcome addition. It is conceivable that the burg maidens and mothers, in their capacity as public servants, would have been permitted to adorn themselves with minimal embellishments. This was due to the understanding that their role was to serve the collective well-being of the community, and an ostentatious display could be perceived as a misuse of communal resources.
