The Song of the Jol

One is the Boundary, where proud minds break,
Two is the Mother, the Law she shall stake.
Three is the Keeper, of water and stone,
Four is the Free-born, who bows down to none.
Five is the Reckoning, for debt and for deed,
Six is the Threshold, the iron gauge’s creed.
Seven is the Axis, the silence, the source,
The Spark takes hold where the wheel starts its course.
Six are the spokes, turning bright in the sun,
Seven the Axis, where all is made one.
But the great wheel of Jol never closes the ring,
Time is no circle, but a rising thing.
A gap remains at the end of the track,
It never lands back where we once stood.
The Spark leaps the void, the night is cleared,
The Spiral drives up, the Law is held.
