Babylonian Flood Texts

From an old Babylonian version of the flood story connected to the construction of an Ark intended to survive a cataclysmic flood, translated by Irving Finkel:
Wall, wall, read wall. Atra-hasis, pay heed to my advice that you may live forever. Destroy your house, build a boat, spurn property, and save life.
The admonition to read the wall appears to hearken to the tradition of recording cultural and religious history on the walls of temples as suggested in the Oera Linda.
