Archival find refutes the malicious suicide rumor about Dr. Ottema, as spread by Dr. Jensma in particular.
There is no reason to assume Ottema ever stopped believing in Oera Linda authenticity.

Excellent!!
Now I am intrigued by the question if there is an onomatological relationship between the OL word 'OD' and the surnames of Ott and Ottema

I think there is.

Maybe Od relates to oat(haver)? Like koren(greek Korai)relates to grain; the correlation exists because the grains were named with great appreciation. Lately I've seen some correlation between Wodin and the 'Wild Man', a representation of nature, like Pan or like Veles in Slavic religion. Holda lives in the forrest too and her name also relates to wood. So maybe the names Wodin and Odin have different roots. But both represent a/the force of nature, to me. Holda/BabaYaga is a sort of Frau Holle, a folksy representation of Frya/Hel, I think. The horror version of her is used in Hansl and Gretl, as a lesson to children.
And this month is the 'month of the museum' with the theme 'echt nep' (real false) and on Oct 10 there is a lecture at the Tresoar, Leeuwarden, about F. HaverSchmidt/Oera Linda Manuscript by someone who wrote a book about him.

I think so too. In the Westfisian tongue it was used for an indestructable (thus having much life force) weed.
From Pannekeet's dictionary:
oôt (II), znw. ’t/de. Soort onkruid, wilde haver (lat. naam avena fatua).
Yes, Tresoar has chosen to increase its future self-humiliation with this video.
