Introduce myself & question

Post by Bert van Baar »

Good afternoon everybody,

My name is Bert van Baar and I am from the Netherlands.

After I heard the Oera Linda Story for the second time in a podcast by Jorn Luka, I got very much interested in this subject.
I recognised a part of its history, the overwhelming earthquakes and floods that were mentioned.

Did anybody ever read the books of Immanuel Velikovsky? Especially ‘Worlds in collision, and Ages in chaos?
He explains disasters in historical times, remnants of it found all over the earth ….. The extinction of many species all over the world; there were 37 different kinds of elephants ! Polar bears and rhinos found in the same graveyard s etc.

Its fascinating and it could explain the same kind of history in the Oera Linda.

I am very much interested in both subjects and wonder if these stories could be stories about the same historical events.

I wonder ……

Sombody already posted something similar. I didn't read, but have delved a bit into the Electric Universe as presented by the Thunderbolt-project, and a lot of it seems reasonable, or at least intriguing to think about. The electric dimension of reality is persuasive, and I accept that thinking. The links to mythology are entertaining but weak to me, even though I can imagine our solar system went through changes similar to what he describes. Most of what the Thunderbolts reference(purple dawn etc) is a much older time -mythologically the era of the Titans- unrelated to the much more recent and purely human stories the Oera Linda book describes. So I didn't know he wrote on more recent anthropological history, but I see his Wiki says he wrote on Egypt and Hittites. Please show how it lines up with the Oera Linda, because so far his theories on myths have not been persuasive or relevant enough for me to examine him further.

Welcome to the forum, Bert!
I have not read any Velikovsky works, but am familiar with Electric Universe approach.
Indeed a good research subject.
